Post by sullyt28 » Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:39 pm

Need to purchase a brake band for this dozer. From the dealer its over $1000 aftermarket it is $250. Anyone have any experience with aftermarket brake bands ? Any suggestions where to purchase from a reliable source ?

Appreciate any feedback.

you should be able to get yours relined for about $100/150 thats if there is any brake shops near you ... you can also look at some posts on 2010 clutch/brake rebuilds that the guys did them selfs the main difference is 2010 is dry yours is a wet brake
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper

I was hoping to avoid the downtime and spend the few extra bucks so i can put it back together vs waiting to have it re-lined and loose some momentum in the project.

If i can't find a creditable place to purchase from than that is what I will most likely do.

With any product there can be problems, but that should be the exception, not the norm, and if not, then the retailers should stop handling that product. Way back I had some trouble with the two cylinder bands when they were first produced, but some manufacturing changes, and no more problems. I have sold hundreds of aftermarket bands with maybe 10 failures, and some of them might have been operator induced.
