steering clutch striped the fiber clutches after 21 hours
Installed new steel and fiber disc and new pressure plates. After 21 hour of work the left side quit pulling. Took it apart and the teeth on all the fiber disc are striped. Any idea why?? 450 john deere. crawler
racing because baseball and football is played only with one ball!!
any oil on them? is the final free(bad bearings?) and working ok? what quality of fibers did you buy? i hear there is some real junk out there.... thoses are the only things i can think of

As for metallic discs in lieu of fiber discs, they are a few drawbacks. Read this thread (especially pay attention to Digitup2's and Lavoy's comments about clutch aggressiveness):

The garbage discs are the blackish/greyish made in USA discs. I have literally had them break in the box in shipment to a customer. The A&I discs should be fine, I can get you different ones if you want.
Assuming they discs were not garbage, there is an underlying problem.
