Hello i am in need of help....

I have turned the engine alittle bit and found a mark dd on top and cc on the bottom... is there mutiple markings on the flywheel that will let me find the d on to and the c on the bottom... another issue is how would do i check if the piston is on the top of the or bottom ...

this is my first time messing with an injector pump... i dont want to break the injector pump by messing up the timing ..

please help need the tractor running for the winter ..

There is a TDC mark on the flywheel and a mark that says 180.
If you had the oil pump out, you'll need to make sure you have it in correctly.
The manual does a decent job explaining the procedure.

If you're having trouble finding the tdc on the flywheel, you can pop out the #1 injector, cover the hole with a finger or thumb, roll the engine over to determine when it's coming onto the compression stroke and when it stops pushing against your finger, you should be about tdc. The end of the pump shaft should have a dimple or divet on it and looking into the mounting hole there is also a mark. Be sure you match up these marks when you install the pump. If I remember correctly, to time it, remove the little cover on the side of the pump and roll engine over by hand in the running direction until the 2 little lines in the window (the little cover removed) align with each other. If you roll the engine beyond, do not back it up, continue around again. gregjo1948

so the lines for the pump do not need to be lined up until the pump is installed...
i found d/c on the flywheel...

do i need to have the d/c lined up then install the pump ... with the dimple and divet lined up for the oil pump marks...

Roll the engine by hand very small amounts at a time checking in the hole in the housing for the TDC mark to come to center. Once you've done that, look down into the hole that the pump shaft goes in. You should see where the shaft sits into position and there will be a dimple(divet or prickpunch dent),whatever you want to call it. Install the pump so the mark on the shaft aligns with the one in the hole. gregjo1948

Yes TDC needs to be lined up when you install the pump ... No the lines don't have to be on the pump BUT when you hook up the MAKE SURE that you have ALL the banjo washers in place or you WILL F@$K the pump up trust me been there done that   look at the oil pump shaft and make sure that the drill mark in the shaft is pointing at #4 cylinder... if it is pointing down to the front of the tractor then you are 180 degrees from #1 TDC
