Model 50 Wheel Tractor Loader Fit My 420C ?

Post by BigV » Mon Sep 30, 2013 11:30 pm

I realize it would be no where near as stout as a factor crawler loader, but I am in need of a front end loader.

I've found a Factor John Deere FEL, complete, off a 2 cylinder gas John Deere Model 50 wheel tractor, for $200. I've tried it, it still works. It does not have hydraulic bucket articulation, but I have a set of cylinders, a block, and a joy stick I could mount and route to control just the bucket articulation.

I'm wondering, if this factory loader could fit my 420C with some fabrication ?

How much weight could I safely load or move using this loader ?

The only vendor close by me who has a real crawler loader assembly is Farmer John's parts in Georgia, and by the time you bought everything that it isn't included in his "complete loader", you'd have $ 1500 or more in it and not ever started on installation.

Don't know where you live. There is a 420 track loader machine in Elmira,NY that is a working machine that can be bought for $1500.00 or less. I wouldn't mess with the one you found. Way too much work for what you end up with. Just my opinion! gregjo1948

I think on the whole, you will be disappointed.
A correct loader assembly is not worth anything close to that money.

Greg, Lavoy: I apologize. I should have mentioned long ago where I am.

I am in the mountains of Western NC. As far west as you can go in NC without being in East TN or North Georgia.

The crawler I've got is roughly number 116,000. So based on my research- 1957 or so.

Wish I had the 200. I would love to get a loader for my 60. Assuming it is the one for the wide front end. Then again I am poor and only have dreams.
