420 fly wheel ring gear

Post by Cletrac68 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 10:05 am

Found a 420C locally - has teeth missing on the fly wheel gear. I see the ring gear is available. How hard is this to fix ? Thanks.

i would say it is like any other ring gear pull the engine, pull clutch then the flywheel take an air hammer or regular hammer and knock the old one off take your new gear heat it with a torch (not extreme heat) then it should fall on the flywheel when it cools its not going anywhere

Done several as JT has described, works fine. I have the ring gear in stock if you need one.
