450b track pin press

I recently purchased a 1968 450b (i think) dozer, and the track idler spring is broken, and needs replacement. I found a replacement, but according to the manuel, it says I need a "60 ton track pin removal press".
does anyone know where I can beg/borrow/steal/rent/buy one from, other than a shop. because i'm used to doing things myself, because I then know they are done right. and there is no greater satisfaction than getting dirt under your nails.
I would appreciate any help.
this is my first post, and arent quite sure I am doing this right.

Hi,

There is one 'easily' removable pin, the Master Pin, which you 'pop' out to split the track. The rest of the pins need the press.

Note the quotes. The master pins require more work than the book makes it sound like!

I thought, from the way it sounds is, dannie just needs to split the track to replace the spring. Therefore, he really just needs to drive out the master pin. Notice the way I said "just" drive out the pin.

Pretty sure what is being referenced is a "master pin press" which is different from a regular track press.

I didn't know there is a "master pin press". I use a 2lb. hammer,swung with great vigor and a large punch, held with lockgrips. gregjo1948

Sorry Guys, haven't been ignoring your comments, thought I was on the wrong board. I re-posted in on another, and have gotten a great amount of help.
The Manual stated that a press was necessary to open the track to get to the spring to replace it. I being "ignorant" was trying to locate one. But thru this web site, and all of your advice, have learned that the manual is a good guide, but NOT the Bible.
All that being said. I am going to roll up my sleeves, like the men who made this Country Great, and fix this wonderful piece of machinery, (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) because trust me "it" over the years has been abused. But soon will be great again.

I have found over the years working on a lot of different types of machinery that service manuals are good for understanding the basics and having some specs like torques, etc. but once you have actually gone through the repair process that you can identify omissions, shortcuts, etc. That is the beauty of a discussion board like this- you can talk to someone that has already learned the hard way
