MC Front Idlers

Hi, my MC has metal plate covers bolted to both sides of the front idlers to cover the spokes. They fit perfect but don't see these in the JD parts manual. Does anyone know if they were an option? Restoring and want to keep it original. Thanks for any replies.

No, it is a home made or possibly aftermarket item, definitely not factory.
