hey guys 1010 parts machine http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Deere-1010 ... 43c40c8c07 you got to love what some people say "tracks look good" look at the pic of the bushings and the pins in side them :o the rails might be good enough to repin and bush...... head cracked from freeze "block may be cracked" i would bet dollars to doughnuts that the block is split right down the middle

Rails are shot. With pins and bushings in that shape and the front idler
where it is I'd bet it's been short tracked.Five hundred? Maybe if they
delivered it.JMHO,luck,JimAnderson

Granted the machine has a number of faults, but take a closer look at the visible good parts - they'd quickly add up to more than $500. Montana's a bit far for trucking East though. Also just my 2 cents. :-)

agreed, looks like a decent parts machine at 500,
i think the tracks are on backwards.
pad wear also looks odd. are those 12" or 10?

The machine if parted out is worth more than $500 for sure, but with E-bay it will probably go for much more than that.If parted out the new
owner will probably do well but we all know somebody will buy it and
expect to put it to work for a couple hundred bucks. It will definitely be
a money if someone tries that.Luck,JimAnderson

The reason the tracks look funny is because those types of pads are snow pads for use in snow. The holes in the pads allow the drive sprocket to push snow thru the track rails. Without the holes in the pads wet packed snow will eventually pack between the track links causing the track rail to eventually come off if it does not break something else before then.

You guys can laugh, I wish I had it for parts for my 420C, at that price. I'd pay that just for the tracks. I see someone jumped on it already. I know of a 420C for $4,000, a 440C gasser for $4300 on craigslist, in Sharon Springs, NY and a 350 in Middlefield, MA on craigslist for $2400. The 420C (I think) is at Bacon's in Williamstown, MA. The 350 has the right drive apart. Good pics on Craigslist.
