pressure test of reverser
I was told, by a friend of mine, that i should pressure test the reverser. I never heard of this before, can someone tell me what it is? Why I should do, it, and what is considered a normal pressure ? How would i go about doing this test and what is it actually testing? Additionally, when i put atf fluid in the reverser, what is the recommended hight? I am thinking, it should be equivalent to the hight of the plugs on the side, that are used to make the adjustments

New name Deere uses is HyGard, IH calls it HyTran, you sometimes still see the 303 fluid designation at some auto parts stores. I personally will not run ATF even though it does say you can use the old Ford Type F fluid, I still don't like it.
Near the LH bung plug there should be a drain cock, that is the fluid level.

Using red ATF fluid is fine (although most people on this board use Hy-Gard, spec 303). Fill the reverser to 1/2" to 3/4" below the access hole in the right of the case. It will hold a total of 3 quarts. Gil
