Had to order new brake band adjusting nut (M 905 T) for my 440IC through my local Deere dealer and price is $37.26. Sure hurts alot for something that small !!!!

Don, why not a lock nut? You can reach it with a wrench and it should stay in place.

Yeah, that could work but than it would not be original. Plus when I would go to adjust it I would have a screwdriver in my hand and not the socket, extension and rachet.

Don,
What happened to the old nut? Was it lost or just in bad shape? I would want an original replacement as well if I were in your shoes. I adjusted these a few weeks ago when I was correcting the shift levers for the bearing throwout and braking, and it would be a lot harder to do with a regular nut. Plus the special nut "locks" in place every 45 degrees which I don't see how you could do with a regular nut.
If it makes you feel any better I just spent $95 on the piece that connects the muffler to the manifold and the butterfly on the muffler.

ouch! that hurts.

I think I'll keep them this time since I am in a hurry to get it out working. I'll check with you on the next parts for sure though. The past parts I have checked with you on weren't available so I was just thinking I had to go with the dealer.
I got my seat fixed at the local machine shop with some angle like you suggested (well, in place of the C channel). Double ouch. They must have spent 4 hours on it with the bill I got for that one. I'm learning how to weld, put it off for far too long...
They did ask me why those deluxe seats are so damn heavy

Tim,
I had a diff oil seal leak onto left steering brake band. So when I wanted to turn left I had to pull real hard and it eventually broke the T bolt for the brake band. Last year (yes, its been apart that long due to too much travel for my job) when I pulled the final it was in the bottom of the housing so I set it aside but now I cannot find it.
