Can I pack the bearings in the transmission in grease when I put them in? Some of the bearings are not submerged in oil just splash oiled. Will the grease on the bearings hurt the new HLR clutches in my trans? Would it be better to use white lithium grease? I had a bearing completely destroyed and I am trying to keep it from happing again. The bearing that went out is not submerged in oil just splash oiled. thanks

quick trans question
If it was designed to be splash oiled, it will be fine, the failure was related to something else. Every trans bearing on every Deere crawler built until the 2010 came out as splash lubed as well as a million or two wheel tractors.
The grease you pack in will last a short time before it is replaced by the oil anyway, and grease has significantly different properties than oil, so I would definitely not pack them with anything. For an assembly lube, use STP or Lucas oil stabilizer, something that can be mixed in with the oil without running the risk of damaging something.
