Can any one out there give me the procedure for adjusting steering clutches and brake bands?

Open the shop manual and follow it exactly.

Search at the top left for the keyword "1010"; you will get 5 pages of results.

There are six operator manuals depending on gas/diesel, serial number, and dozer/loader (OMT14738, OMT14740, OMT17418, OMT18525, OMT19258, OMT19529, ), 2 parts catalogs (PC727 for the crawler and PC704 for the loader attachment only), and 2 service manuals (SM2034 for the crawler and SM2046 for the loader attachment only). The website has detailed descriptions of each as well as a photo of the cover to make sure you get the right ones.

FYI, the reason that we didn't just post the procedure is that it is fairly involved and not easily understood in writing without the accompanying photos that are in the manual.
