What set if tracks to put back on my 440?
Pretty much the same, 440 might only be a single spring, 1010 is dual, but otherwise will bolt right on.
Yes, you should be able to get the 1010 vale on the fender, but you will need to change the pressure setting, pretty sure 1010 runs at higher pressure.

Update. Got a spare set of 440 tracks this weekend. They need new pins but the chain is great. Buttoned the machine up enough to take it for a spin. And then it happened. The worst possible flipping thing that I feared had become a reality. Yes, it is that moment when you ask yourself why in te hell didn't I check this bc I have to tare half the *^*]*{^* machine apart to fix it.
So my machine drives wrong meaning it drives faster on the left side ( steers right slightly when going forward) than right meaning one final has 55 teeth and the other 56......
So if the left side drives faster I equate that to less teeth. And right side has 56??? Am I thinking correctly.
Oh and the nice paint job on that final will now be a complete pile of *}^[%%%\^{*+[¥^^{*[*]+]=.
Drank two beers and pondered the thought of insuring the damn thing and driving it over a cliff. (Without me on it of course), or setting it on fire......
Any ideas why Deere had to put more teeth, I think they secretly wanted to mess with me 50 years after the tractor was built.

So I took te final apart today. And yup, there it was. A nice 56 toothed bull gear. Put in a 55 tooth, buttoned the machine up. Drive it 15 feet and still steers to the right.
$:$/)/)) you have got to be kidding me. The pinion gear is wrong too.
Ive lost my mind at this point and have learned a valuable lesson. Count teeth before you assemble each side.

Don't run a 13 tooth pinion with a 55 tooth bull gear, it is hard on stuff. You need a 14 tooth pinion gear.

I'm not sure which side has the wrong pinion gear yet, I think it is the right side. I have a couple 13 and 14 tooth gears so I'll make it right.
And your parts you sold my dad worked just fine on the tractor, no issues. I'll make sure to send him out in person again on the next project

13 tooth pinion out, 14 tooth pinion in. Took 15 minutes. Easiest thing to fix thus far.
Next is blade mounting, fenders, hood, and grill. Then time to play!

You have to stay on your toes just when you get comfortable working on them something bites you in the ass just got done tearing mine back apart after putting in a tranny reverser and finals back on found out the splines were stripped in the ring gear so it had to come all apart again thought about junking it but took it apart had a four speed tranny so I was getting ready to put it in to save the trouble of putting another ring and pinion in was cleaning the front shaft up and had my brother pull inspection plate off the ring gear and was I glad I did it was in bad shape had to change the ring and pinion on the other tranny was putting it back together and right side clutch wasn't working right look down the inspection hole and seen that I hadn't even hook up the linkage to the throw out bearing back oof with the final to hook it up finally every thing seems to be working right. It wasn't as bad as sitting there thinking about it when I first figured out what was wrong it could have been a lot worst the splines could have caught by just a little bit would have worked for just a little bit then broke.
I can't tell you how many times on a complex disassembly/reassembly that I have realized that I forgot to put something in prior to putting the next 5 parts that go overtop it. Over the years I have minimized that by labeling parts and taking lots of photos but even then it still happens once in a while. It sure doesn't make it any easier though.

You mean like putting the throttle linkage together, and installing the gas tank, then realizing you forgot the spring that goes behind the dash on the throttle? so you have to tare the tank back off that had 5 gallons of gas in it, which is easier said than done.
Then pull the thank and scratch the hell out of it since it doesn't fit 100% correct because somehow you accidently got the temp gauge wire caught between the tank and bracket.
And now you can't get the tank out because the throttle lever is in the way hanging there, so you call your wife over (who hates all the crawlers in the driveway to begin with) to help, and you promise her a nice dinner if she can help hold that stupid throttle link in the right position so the tank can be removed.
All for a 5 second spring install mistake. Cost me a $50 dinner but at least the company was good. I was sitting at dinner thinking about that crawler the whole time though...........

wizner, for future knowledge, I'm pretty sure if you unbolt the instrument panel and fuel tank bracket from instrument panel. You can slide the instrument panel back just far enough to slip the throttle out of the instrument panel.
Almost positive that's what I did on mine last year when I put new friction washers in mine.
Hopefully you did the friction washers or else you'll be doing this all again.

Didn't even think of moving dash back, but reverser linkage is all buttoned up, and to remove the reverser linkage you have to take the foot rest out.... I think next time, I will think a little harder before doing...
Friction washers are good. Just a little slop in the turn buckle, but not too bad.
Taking a break from this project to work on my 440 loader that needs a main clutch... Got the motor ready to pull tonight.
