350 loader fluid level

Post by splam » Wed Sep 24, 2014 7:15 pm

I have a straight 350 with a loader which I changed all fluids in a year ago. My question is should the oil be in the sight glass when the bucket is resting on the ground with bucket level indicator showing? I notice on mine that with the bucket fully raised I can not see fluid in the sight glass which I am sure is due to all of the oil needed in the cylinders to extend them.. I just want to make sure I have enough fluid in the system.

when everything is on the ground then the fluid should be in the glass when every thing is ram extended then it will drop the level... sounds like your fine...if you can still see part of the "back" of the sight gauge then i would add fluid till you only see fluid plus 1/2 gallon
