1010 wheeleed gas tractor

i realize this is off subject, i have 1010 tractor gas engine rebuilt engine about 30 years ago, it is ready for rebuild now again i also have 3 cyl deere diesel out of 350 crawler is it possible to repower my 1010 with diesel for more power better economy i can do all neccessary machine work myself thanks in advance for advice

There have been some discussion of this in the past and I think the general consensus has been that trying to convert a 1010/2010 tractor (crawler or wheel tractor) with a 3 cylinder engine is a lot of custom work because the bolt patterns are different, etc. You also have the added issue of switching from gas to diesel.

If you are thinking about it, you would probably have somewhat of an easier time sticking to a conversion within the 1010/2010 family of diesel engines than a 3 cylinder.

Just FYI, the 3 cyl diesel was used in the 1020. The entire tractor is completely different from the 1010.
