Mounting 9300 backhoe

Post by NickMartin » Sat Jan 31, 2015 6:29 am

So I'm looking at getting a 9300 backhoe for my loader. Can someone please tell me what is used to pin the top holes? Do you use some sort of hitch pin or is it bolted? Anyone have the specs if it is pinned or know where I can get them? Or the bolt size if it's bolted.
Thanks

It's an import 350 backhoe model but it was missing the hoe when I got it.

Two great big tapered pins that are held in with a smaller bolt.
Did you ever find out if you have the lines for a backhoe? Seems to me the ones in the pic were just small lines like from the aux valve. Hoe coupler would be almost 2" across.

The lines appear to be about 1" id. With the pivoting hydraulically lifting seat post (to prevent the need for the hoe jump seat) I would certainly believe it was built for a backhoe.

Lavoy,
Any idea on where I can purchase those pins?
So you have a part number or maybe specs on them?
Thanks

That looks like the hoses alright.
Pins would be a Deere item, only possible number I found quickly is U16055U, and they are $185/each, so I would suggest just getting something made.

9300 backhoe

Post by pondhogvt » Sun Feb 01, 2015 2:10 pm

I measured my hoses for 9300 attachment.. O.D. of hose 1.5"s and coupler O.D. was 2.25"s so I assume it is 1" I.D. hose...

the pin is 1.5"s diameter and 4"s long not counting the taper. best bet is to buy a 1.5" diameter bolt 5"s long and grind your own taper..

insert bolt into backhoe housing off the machine and mark the hole on bolt for holding pin then take out and drill hole on drill press..

$10 bucks each not counting your labor beats $185 each.. good luck Mark.

9300 back hoe pins

Post by NWJD fan » Mon Feb 02, 2015 5:09 pm

I made pins for my backhoe out of 1.5 inch round stock. I end drilled and tapped both ends. On one end I installed a 1/2 inch eyebolt and large washer that prevents pin from sliding out. Other end uses ashore 1/2 inch bolt with lock washer and large penny washer or drilled piece of flat bar to retain pin from other end when installed. Eyebolt makes a nice handle for installing or removing pin and bolt and washer affair on the other end does not have to be aligned with hole for through bolt that JD uses to retain pin.

I lost a pin so I made my another out of 316 stainless. I work at a machine shop that has a bunch of shaft scrap. I turned a 3/4 x 15deg. chamfer on the installation end and a hole for a large clevis pin keeps it in place. There is a 3/8 thick shoulder on the other end that keeps the pin from coming through the hole. I made the pin .015" smaller than the hole. I think if you use something that will rust, you may have problems removing them, however my other pins are just steel.

A machine shop can make them but they might be pricey. The 1.5 dia. x 5" bolt idea doesn't sound bad. Might even use a locknut to keep the pin in.

I have successfully used the chromed piston rods from old hydraulic cylinders as pins. If you go to any hydraulic cylinder repair shop you can get old rods from their scrap bin for the price of scrap steel as that is what the shop is going to get any way. Most shops do this for good will. Who are you going to have repair your cylinders in the future? A shop that helped you when they could or a shop that refused to help you when they were asked?
