Was checking out on line ads for small old crawlers. One from the MN Twin Cities area is a JD 1010 crawler loader. That's it! Total description! No price or pictures. Do these people really expect to be able to sell something like that?

Some people!
Of course, because when you call, it is the only one ever made, very rare, 97% undercarriage, and fresh overhaul (meaning plugs and points).

Thing is you only need one idiot with more money than brains to call. Few years ago a local guy drove out to Minnesota, from northern Pa. to buy a International dozer. The dozer was not running, owner assured the idiot that the ONLY thing it needed was a starter. So, the idiot gets it home, puts a starter in it. Guess what? The motor is froze up. Water had gotten down the exhaust, locked up the pistons and cracked the block. I offered him $1500 for it for parts, but he was to smart sell it for that. But not smart enough to ask the previous owner why he didn't just put a starter in it if that all it needed.
Thing is this wasn't the first, or last time the idiot got burned on something from Craigslist or ebay. He keeps buying stuff off of it and is usually junk.
Now that I think about it a have Loadstar out back that hasn't run in about 15 years, that should be worth a few pesos.

Heck a guy on another forum posted the story about buying a crawler loader to use on their farm. Got it home after looking it over and test driving it a little to find it had a badly cracked block. Don't have to be dumb to get took. Just unlucky. They had to buy a reman engine for it, 6 cyl turbo diesel. Hate to think of how much money they have tied up in that thing. It's on an IH forum.townlineterry wrote:Thing is you only need one idiot with more money than brains to call.
