6 way hydraulic valve on 1010
6 way hydraulic valve on 1010
Need some assistance on a hydraulic valve.
I have very little down pressure on my blade, after some diagnosing, I figured it was the hydraulic valve that controls the blade assembly on my 1010c(has the factory T handle).
I tried to take to a local hydraulic shop to get rebuilt, but they say it's too far gone and there are no 0-rings to replace in it.
Does anyone know of a replacement on the market for this valve body?
It's cast as a Gresen 2753 and there are no ID tags on it
Any help on new aftermarket, or good used valve would be appreciated!
Many thanks - Mike

Re: 6 way hydraulic valve on 1010
This is the 3 spool valve I used on my 420:

It has one spool that has a float function that is very useful for the up/down on the blade.

Be careful with that valve on a 420, minimum pressure setting is 1500PSI, that will pretty much blow a center section on the pump if you hit the end of piston stroke.
There are O-rings in a joystick valve, not sure your hyd guy is too sharp. Unless the pistons are loose in the bores, I would just put in O-rings and seals.

Lavoy, I don't see a place for o-rings on the spool. (It's apart on my bench now because I didn't believe him either) There are cup seals at each end. They said it was spool that is wore, resulting in bypass.
OR
Do the o-rings go in the valve body and mine are completely gone? I've never come across one like that, but I've been corrected many times.

There is a pic of the spool from the valve on this link:

Lavoy, good catch I forgot to mention the 500-1500psi relief valve I plumbed in before the valve set to 1000psi. Here is a link to what I have:Lavoy wrote:Be careful with that valve on a 420, minimum pressure setting is 1500PSI, that will pretty much blow a center section on the pump if you hit the end of piston stroke.

Cool, I know at one time I had found a valve that would go down to 1000PSI, never bought one, never found it again!

I'm sensing that there is no hope for my factory valve and T handle assembly? I was kind of liking that single point of control with the blade.
I've been digging and found this joystick control which keeps me pretty close.

Price is a bit steep though

That looks like that would work, not sure of pressure setting on 1010.

I agree with Lavoy's thinking that the shop you used isn't on the ball. If your spool or bore is worn , it still can be fixed. Most Caterpillar hydraulic re-man centers have the capability to re-chrome cylinder rods and control valve spools, and in most instances can re-size the spool to fit the bore and can also clean the bore up if need be. May cost a couple hundred bucks but it's better in my opinion than fitting a non standard valve.

If a 1010 is like a 440 then the o-rings are in the valve not on the spool if I remember right. There were two on mine, one is way up in there.
Look up the parts catalog on Deere's website and see what the exploded view shows.

Ok guys(and gals?), I've been able to fix it up.
I had another similar valve, that was only a 2 spool, that I was able to remove a spool from and install in my 3 spool. That seems to of done the trick for my down pressure.
Additionally, I fixed up the 12 connections on the linkage for the T handle. I bought all the Bronz flanged sleeve bearings and spring pins from McMaster Carr for that portion of the project. Although they didn't have the correct bushings, I made them work with some drilling out of the holes and a little file work. I also replaced the 5/8" diameter bushing the T handle goes through and welded a new stud on the end of the T to take all the slip out of that. I can post the parts list if anyone is interested.
All said, I have about $25 into that repair and a bunch of tinker time.
