Jd450 thermostat location help

Hey guys, I'm trying to install a new thermostat on my jd450 (old one was destroyed in fire) but I'm not sure where it attaches once I've installed gauge on dash. Is there a place to attach it on engine block or hose? A picture would be awesome if possible.

I dont think you are talking about the thermostat

Thermometer? My engine keeps overheating so I was told install a new thermostat/thermometer to be able to keep an eye on it. It has gauge that installs in the dash and then a long wire with temperature gauge at the end of it. Im not sure where the temperature gauge should be installed on the engine block. So was wondering if anyone had any suggestions where I should put it. Maybe someone has a pic of theirs that would show it or from the service manual?

OK the capillary tube on the temp gauge .. It will be below the thermostat or in the head You should replace the thermostat if you have not yet

Exactly! The capillary tube looks like it can be screwed in somewhere so is there a particular place it is made to fit into?
Replaced thermostat as well
