Thoughts on a 455G track loader

Post by boaterri » Thu Jun 30, 2016 8:58 am

Are there any model specific problems or areas of concern with a 455G LGP track loader? The link below is the machine I am considering and would welcome any thoughts or comments.

Thanks,

Wonder why they have the tracks that tight? Look good for the pictures?

Hi,

It looks pretty good, as far as photos can tell one anything. At least, they show a machine worth going and looking at, anyway.

Problem is, until you spend a day actually working with it, you won't truly know much.

Last fall i purchased a very 1998 455G with backhoe. So far have spent about as much time working on it as using it :-) My two cents is the current price on Ebay of $16K is about tops I'd pay

We have had great luck with our 455G. It's equipped with rear counter weights and a ripper. Incredibly powerful. It has 12.000 hours on it.

I thinks it's about 25-50% more machine than a 450C and will lift the same weight as our hoe equipped 450C.

We have never had any trouble with our G series machines. I would think the only issues to be had is getting one used that was never maintained.

I have a 1984 455D with about 7500 hours. It was totally rebuilt at 7000 hours about 10 years ago and marginally used since then. The machine starts right up with no starting fluid on the coldest day in the Maine winter. I use it to plow snow and fill potholes in my driveway. Pins are 90 plus %. Runs great with no leaks.

Anyone interested in purchasing it, contact me.
