Alternative sealing rings for 2010

Post by 2010Crawler » Mon Jan 30, 2017 7:03 am

Hello everybody,
The sealing rings AT12996T and AT15975T are no longer available. Is there an alternative that I can order in Germany?
The seals belong to the final drive of the 2010 crawler.
Thanks for your help and greatings from germany.

Second one (AT15975T) last price DEERE $70 NLA crosses over to a
nat 415458

first AT12996T from JD last price $110 as you said NLA..and NO direct crossover

So you MAY need to reuse (if you can) or need shaft and bore size and thickness to find by size I am sure you wont find one like JD used with 3 dirt seals as shown on this site and post

I have to go to work will look by size later for the first one

found the first one

national seal # 416292 CR or SKF # 33073 $30 1/2" wide I would see if i could put 2 in there as the JD one is .750

Alternative sealing rings for 2010

Post by 2010Crawler » Wed Feb 01, 2017 1:49 pm

Thank you for your help and the links to the sealing rings.
Unfortunately, the axle stub on the sealing surface is so worn that I can not say whether the sealing rings will fit. Perhaps the axle stubs still have to be turned off. I still have a contact in germany, who can perhaps help me out with replacement stakes.
The repair still robs me of the last nerve.
I have bought the 2010 as a ready for use and now follows a repair after another.
Now it takes a bit longer and cost considerably more money.
You seem to have the same problems.
Greetings from Germany

Hi 2010crawler,

I have the same issue as you have mentioned and I have purchased the #33073 seal as my work around. (over a year ago now).

jtrichards comment on installing 2 seals sounds like the best advice and I am going to try and follow that. I am a little bit luckier as one side I can reuse the original seal.

I had a friend turn down my shafts and pressed a new hardened surface, not sure of the metal grade but I can ask if your interested. I should also post some before/after picture of the job.

If you are new to this site and have not had a chance to look around, try to find jtrichards posts as they are a treasure trove of knowledge and will help you calm your nerves

Remember if you use double seals to pack the cavity between with grease.
