engine troubles

Post by millertym2 » Wed Mar 07, 2007 7:52 am

Two weeks ago I was pushing our 6 foot snow banks back and with 10 feet left to go my mc popped and would only run on 1 cyl. and barely made it back to the garage. Come to find out the rocker arm shaft broke at front rocker. And both cyl's had under 30 psi of comp. I have known the rings were shot but thats RRRRREALY bad. So Lavoy how much does a rebuild kit run? And do you have a rocker arm shaft?

I pulled the engine out and took the head off and checked the valves seem ok-but Im going to get the head cleaned up and valves ground.

I should have rockershaft, would need to check.
Rebuild kit will vary depending on how deep you want to get.

Lavoy,

I am going to put new bearings, rings and all new seals.I have the head off and need seals a gasket kit for that too.So probably the biggest rebuild kit there is. If you want I will give you a call.

Thanks,millertym2.
