1952 John Deere MC Crawler
I need to verify the manufacturer of the engine for my 1952 John Deere MC crawler. The man that is going to do the rebuild thinks it might be a Wisconsin motor. Can anyone verify this or advise me of the correct manufacturer?
Re: 1952 John Deere MC Crawler
The "original motor" in a MC is a Deere Engine. I doubt it has been re-powered with a different engine, this would require a lot of fabrication/changes. Bruce
Re: 1952 John Deere MC Crawler
Even if it was a Wisconsin, I would be a little leery of a rebuilder that doesn't recognize a Wisconsin in and of itself.

Maybe the rebuilder is from the new generation of wrench twisters!!!

Just Idle curiosity but did Wisconsin ever build any water cooled engines? All I have ever known of are air cooled.

Hi,
Me, either. But, if they did make water cooled ones, they would surely have been a lot different than a JD....
