Couple things, looking for some fuel consumption help, the little twin seems to be awfully thirsty is this the norm?
Second someone has removed the sprocket guards and spring covers, I’m currently cleaning up my property from being logged would having the covers in place help with the amount of stuff getting caught up in the track frames?

Re: 440ic questions
Don't know what thirsty is to you, but they should run a full 8 hour day on a tank with ease.
Track spring covers and sprocket shields will help, yes.

Re: 440ic questions
Seems to have burned approx 5 gallons in about 3 hours, slow speed just off idle, pushing brush so not really working the machine, is that screw on the fuel bowl a mixture adjustment?

Often the air filter assembly is loaded and needs to be deep cleaned.

For a 440 to burn in excess of a gallon an hour, it must have black smoke pouring out the stack pretty steady. I'm kind of surprised it will even run, plugs should be fouled out in fairly short order as well. You have an issue someplace, just need to find it.

It runs very well actually, can smell that it’s running rich no visible smoke tho, I’ll have to give the air filter a look. No leaks in the tank or lines, bottom end isn’t being filled either
Re: 440ic questions
The last eat ones with more hp do burn a lot of fuel
Re: 440ic questions
Set the throttle to high idle, turn the load jet in until it starts to die. Turn it out til it runs smooth, and then 1/4 to 1/2 turn, and try that.
