Looking at purchasing a 1010 Model 310-820 serial# 1837, I cannot find information about this model number anywhere.
It is a diesel crawler/loader.
It starts easily and runs moves forward and reverse, it will turn left but not right
Hydraulic oil is clean
It digs, lifts, and dumps a full bucket of dirt with ease.
The motor sounds good and strong.
Does anyone have any information about this model or if parts are available?
What it's worth and approximate repair bill to get it back to work again?

I might be mistaken but I think that is the numbers for the loader part of your machine. The machine serial number plate on the one I have is on the right side of engine.

Hi,
The model for the machine is 1010c. In those days, machines were sold bare and the dozers and loaders were attachments. And, there were usually several to choose from. So, each has its' own model and serial plate.
The steering issue is at least one side needs a steering clutch rebuild. Now, is it an issue of the left side not driving or the right side not braking, or even both problems? You need a stout tree to dive up against and see if both tracks spin or not, then if both tracks declutch or not. Just go in thinking you need to rebuild both sides to be sure. As to the cost, I don't know what that is these days. I do know that you get to DIY. The probability of your finding a place to work on old iron crawlers is about zero.
And, stay away from steering clutch fiber discs from any source other than Lavoy. Many cheap ones out there which shatter so fast you'd be better off using dinner plates from a thrift store.

That serial data plate should be on the right ("passenger") side engine block about halfway up. Sometimes they get really coated with oil and dirt and can be hard to see, or if the engine has ever been swapped you may be SOL. In most cases, you usually don't need to have the exact serial number for parts purposes because only certain parts changed during production and there are usually other clues from certain parts as to approximate serial number.
Certain parts are available either from Deere or aftermarket and others are spotty at best or boneyard only. It just depends but remember they are 55+ year old crawlers. Lavoy (who sponsors this site) is a JD crawler parts dealer so can let you know if you have specific needs.
Stan already answered your question about finding service- some old timers that do this work do exist but are few and far between. Don't even bother with a JD dealer unless you like paying for them to scratch their heads- although I will point out that not all Deere dealers are equal and some ag dealers in rural areas are more knowledgable than others.
As for information, the operator and service manuals can still be purchased and the parts manuals are available online for free. There is also a site that posts general specifications for the 1010. Since I have posted (or posted links to my original posts) about these sources many times I would direct you to do a username search for my posts to find them and can help if you don't find them after looking.
