Has anyone seen a three point on an MC. I live in real rocky soil and would love to be able to attach some kind of ripper type operation on the back of it for small projects.
I know a ripper and a 3 Point are different however i am curious if i can hybrid something for small time use.
Thanks

I don't believe JD came out with 3 point hitch until the 40 series was introduced. Perhaps you could adapt parts from the 40 or 420.
JD 350B diesel 6way blade, Case 580B Loader/backhoe, Farmall 504 high crop w/ flail boom mower, International 404 , International 284 diesel w/belly mower, 1972 Ford F600 dump truck, Galion 3-5 roller, Allis Chalmers D17, 1620 Ford

Won't work on MC or 3 roller 40, and the other issue would be final drive damage from shock loading.

Re: 3 Point on a MC
Hi,
The M tractor had JDs own system, and the MC had a toolbar on the back. The 3-pt had been Furguson's patent, so only Ford had it until the patent expired. All the other makers had their own 'ours is the best!' schemes...until that patent expired....then they all changed over to the 3-pt.
For us, that'd be the 40, but I can't recall ever seeing a 3-pt on a 40c. Only on the wheel tractors. The crawler 3-pt is a different scheme than the wheel tractors as it is a Cat-II and offers downpressure. All the wheel tractors are Cat-I and gravity-down without pressure. That means one needs a lot heavier rear end to take the forces involved on a crawler.

Re: 3 Point on a MC
Thanks for the information. I had pretty much surmised that the MC didn't have one and also that they probably were not stout enough in the rear to run one.
I'd love to figure out a way to do it though without the risk of damaging the crawler. Maybe making something that could mount of the draw bar so it can swing a little as the unit makes slight turns.

Use a trailing ripper, Deere made at least 2 models of them, someone else must have too.
