and don't know if the mount for the plug is brazed in or what.....can probably get a torch to it. if do heat the mount or the plug itself..which???

The part it threads into is maybe silver soldered in, be careful with heat. Square socket is the best if you can. Put in a new plug if you get it out.

Plus is 1/4" pipe plug. Square sockets I have are Craftsman, but Mac, Snap On, any good tool shop should have them.

I don't think Lavoy ment that the wrench size is 1/4". It's a 1/4" PIPE PLUG.

Correct, should be a 7/16" wrench if it is a square head plug.

well it looks like the sunex set aint a'going to do the job yet.....gonna have to get her in garage and get to weld a nut to the boogered plug and then use my rachet/sockets....hope heat from welding is enough to loosen and with nut be able to get her off....i really hate working on the darn thing in the shed on gravel and halfassed wet at that and not one damxxx...bit of room to really even keep eye on the plug and wrench...i'd rather watch a wench!!!

By the way if anyone else gets to tear down and get belly pan off....do the maintenance on the hydraulic while that belly pan is off, obviously i didn't and sure wish i hadda...that was the only oils i did not take care of...

You may want to remove tank. Or drop belly pan. If tank is in good shape drop belly pan, if tank needs any kind of repair pull tank. I have a 430C in shop now, first one to ever work on. I had to replace main shaft from trans to engine, replace all parts for brake and clutch pedal as they where frozen together. And repair left steering quil. So I changed all oils in machine, I had no issues removing drain for Hydrauli tank, and I’m almost certain oil has never ever bin changed. Oil didn’t look like oil anymore it was a cross between 90 weight gear oil and #2 grease. It took about 5 gallons of diesel fuel to flush out clean, I put about 3/4 of a gallon of fuel in each time, remove suction line and stick blow gun down to bottom and stir it up. Repeat till clean, you may want to regulate air down just a bit.

got it in garage now....mud all over...maybe can dry a bit.....surely wanted to take tank off and work on it...but that seem like a real job and too much chance of breaking something else...it has inline spin on filter on the hard pipe from the pump and the six way valve/controls right over the top of tank which looks like all should come off....i will look closely at possibility of welding nut to it and being inside taking off back skid plate if gonna require removal....both plates join right at the plug of course....idjits sure coulda used a hole there...if nothing else just to drain the danged thing!!!..mine is just milky looking, will see more when drained.

Run it up on some 6X6 so you have some room under it.

well i had to get the rear skid plate off!!!!.....still could not get it to move with any of my wrenches or the square socket.....
So...i welded a 15/16 nut cause bolt hole big enough to get over the square first weld would not hold it....so back to it again and this time was able to get the booger out....looks like it has a small magnet in the end of it...so i cleaned it up and with the 15/16 nut it will do the job...

I did use diesel to flush it out and blew my long air gun down to agitate.....that dang spin on filter sure was a b....tch to get off....aint no room for leverage...happened to have a diesel fuel filter that fits right on it for now till i can find the proper one....i filled that with my 10w and then filled the hydraulic tank....seems to work ok in garage will see later....still gotta get belly pan back on...

thanks to all
