What's funny is that I'm a non-degreed heat transfer engineer and as owner of a "C" corp I'm also a Chief Executive Officer(along with lead engineer, lead salesman,CFO,COO,etc). Long track record of successful corporate governance and in my field I'm the go to guy on difficult projects.
Without a degree I am "unqualified" for any government service job and most new corporate jobs.
Back when MBA's were all the rage I had holders of same attempt to give me the worse advice imaginable. Those same people are still working for wages for someone else and I continue to use my "old outdated ways" as my path to substantial and sustainable success.
Truly be the best in your chosen field,be honest,KEEP YOUR WORD, do no less than what you say you will do,exceed customer expectations, and success is pretty darn easy. This is,of course, just my old outdated opinion.

Pushin hard or diggin deep life is good.
What's ahead is what matters. What's behind is already done.
A fool of a man is he who doesn't ask questions...
God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason...
