As per the previous post the 440 has 36 track links. With that much adjustment left I would definitely count links. If you end up with 35 then the machine has been short tracked. This is not uncommon and just means you will be dumping money into pins and bushings plus labor. The missing links will need to be found or replaced. If you intend to work one of the two machines the 440 is much more capable.Count on spending lots of time and or
money on any 50 year old crawler.Luck,JimAnderson

The winch on the 440 is a huuuuge plus. I use the winch on my 40c almost as much as I use the blade, between cutting wood, dragging "collectables" around the yard, etc, it's really handy.

A "good" cherry picker will be just fine, assuming you are on concrete. That is all I had for many, many years til I got a forklift.
I would lean towards the 440 for a using crawler.

I can email pics of the sprockets but couldn't load them do to computer issues or issues with photobucket. It would show it in library but when clicked on to get link would say it was moved or deleted.

Timr,
have you tried to use our own "pic server" that is dedicated to this site??? Send a pm msg to Lavoy with your login and password for the pic server that you wish to use.. If you need help getting started advise and we can walk you through it.
Everyone on here have tended to get away from Photobucket because of loss of all the pics that had been on it for free and when they wanted to charge for the service they deleted those that wouldn't pay for the service.
access to the portal is in the Q&A forum at the bottom of the "Board index".

track rails look good but rollers not so much. Not too much to go on but it appears the grousers(pads) and rails(chain) are OK so repair could be only to rollers maybe? About $100.00 each but big job to replace. You will probably find some broken bolts and surely find some seized bolts.
Jack up one side, pull track group, then pull the entire assembly as it's easiest to flip it upside down to get to bottom rollers and mounting bolts. You're probably looking at 40+ hours per side unless you are set up to do it as a shop would.
If sprocket and front idler are as bad as rollers those will need to be replaced and also good time to rebuild or replace track tensioners.
