Where to get parts?
Where to get parts?
I need a brass 90 elbow M1344T. I have tried generic parts and this is not made as a standard part.
1/2 male pipe thread 90* to 5/8 inverted flare (female)
In general what are some good sources? So many places I find only sell universal fit parts and not specific old parts.

They didn't have it in stock. They referred me to a guy who has it, but cash only. He referred me to another company that had it. It was $22.xx their state touches my state, but different. For this part that weighs less than 1 lb and is 2x2x1 inches they charge $18.50 shipping and added taxes. What a scam! At least it's on the way, but where is a good place to order parts?

Re: Where to get parts?
Glad you found one. Lavoy is a good source for a lot of parts especially running gear. However, once in a while you have to pay a high price for a specific part if you really need/want it. You probably could have cobbled together a standard fitting plus some adapters but all in all probably would have spent close to that in parts plus had to spend time running around to get the parts and putting them together. I've tried to do things like that in the past, sometimes it works out well, other times the overpriced new part is the best solution. Maybe you'll get a good deal on another part sometime and it will all even out.

Re: Where to get parts?
When looking for parts other than engine and specific design parts I go to Grainger, McMaster-Carr,MSC or other industrial supply houses. I'm lucky: in my town there is a well stocked hydraulic fitting store that also custom makes hydraulic hoses(reasonable price too). The fitting you described is a standard pipe to flare fitting: a well stocked plumbing supply house should have it as well.
