The Change....
The Change....
We're all men here so we can talk safely(just like the barbershop). My wife has begun the change. Going along just fine in my life and this stranger i don't know has taken up residence in my house. Looks like my wife, voice sounds like my wife, dresses like my wife but i have no idea who this person is.
Thankfully i have a lot of things to do to keep me away from the house. Hoeing garden in the afternoon rain storms will get pretty old pretty fast i do believe...
I'm all ears on how to fix (or simply survive) this problem.

Re: The Change....
Hi,
My wife developed fibroids in her uterus when she entered menopause. So, all those related parts were removed. That ended it right away. The GYN tried Hormone Replacement Therapy to begin with, and while that helped a lot it also triggered breast cancer. That is a risk with HRT. After dealing with the breast cancer, they decided that the fibroids might become a problem, hence their removal along with everything else.
So, while I went through it, it wasn't in a manner that is likely to be of help to you. I would say to not try HRT, though.

Re: The Change....
You have my sympathy. My wife went through this about 10 years ago. I learned to walk softly around her, try to be understanding because it is not her fault and spend a lot of time outside or is the shop. It was worse due to complications from her lupus. Best I can say is be patient and wait it out, it will pass.

Hi Stan,
Your wife certainly had a lot to deal with and i hope she came through it all. I do have empathy for mine( she is my wife) but lordy it is difficult.....

Hi,
Yes, she did. That was almost 20 years ago now, and I am happy to say she is still cancer free.

Re: The Change....
Maybe relevant, maybe not, but lots of the comments here as to "putting up" with her and her problems probably is being talked about on a menopause board someplace by women who have had to put up with their husbands crawler habit for more than the 10 years or whatever because we never age out of it!

Re: The Change....
Hi,
My Mom always said that Dad loved his 420c more than he did her!
Come to think on it, he did seem to make more woods roads than we really needed right at the time Mom went thru it.
My wife didn't 'get it', either. My Dad had passed in 1995 before we met, so I already had the 420c. I had all of an acre at that time, with a big racing shop taking up a lot of room. The 420c had no use there, so it was mothballed in a back corner surrounded by lots of race car parts. She paid it no mind except for occasionally wondering why I kept it. I knew that, one day, I would move to a larger place and need it again.
It didn't get revived until spring 2005 when we bought this small farm. That same spring, she was wanting to get rid of some big old bush thing alongside the (much smaller) workshop here. She was saying how much work that'd take us, and I said no trouble at all. She was thinking shovels and axes. I was thinking (y'all know already) push it over, back up, and push it away.
Since then, she has become pretty adept at knowing when the 420c is needed and what it can do.
