Track Shoe Removal
Track Shoe Removal
I'm headed out to remove all the shoes from both rails. Since the bolts are pretty much shot already, is there any point in trying to remove the nuts the nice way or should I just cut the heads off with the cutting torch and save a bunch of time?

Well, this is probably where I get kicked off this board but I can't help myself.
It must be a guy thing but the thought of cutting the nuts off never crossed my mind.
Now if I'm still on the board, that sounds like a better idea than knocking the heads off because you have to angle in a little on the shoe side and risk cutting the shoe a bit. My thinking was the shoes weren't all that great either and I was more willing to risk a shoe than a link but the alignment on the link side makes the damage possibility much smaller so I think that's the way I'll go.
I hope I can find a way of living with my decision. I'll probably get over it pretty fast.
