So, working on a customer crawler and got a wild hair to come up with a replacement hyd pump and drive to replace the original Hydreco pump and 6 spline drive setup. The last pump I got for someone that was a direct replacement was close to $1000 just for the pump. Then you still have to deal with the worn out and obsolete drive components as well.
If it all works out as hoped, I would have a new laser cut mounting plate, new drive shaft, engine coupling and shaft to pump coupler, and new modern pump as close to bolt in as I can make it. Only catch might be hose fittings depending on if the crawler has been modified from original, but that can be addressed by the installer if need be.
Goal right now is a pretty complete drop in conversion for around $500. From the outside nothing really visible that it has been changed from OEM. I think I can also make a similar setup for the 440 diesel dozer crawlers too.
Sound like a good plan, or wasting my time?

Hi,
Sounds like a great plan to me. Seems as if there has been quite a few pump issues lately. As time marches on, we are going to see more issues, not fewer.....

I like it.....makes for a better option anyway....parts are still needed for these machines.....always appreciate all your legwork on these issues.

Will be working on first try this week. Not a factory application, but many of the pieces will be the same.
