Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine
Hello, I am trying to remove injectors for my 350C, I have taken the fuel lines off and removed the single nut and clamp on top of injector. They are stuck hard. I tried a pry bar with gentle pressure but they will not budge. Am I missing something on how to take them out? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

using a small slide hammer is the proper way to do them there are not much money totally wasted a set with pry bars then found the slide hammer

Soak them in penetrant overnight just in case that will help some. Install new ones with anti-seize.

If you can get them rotating work them back and forth and they should come out. You can bend them so don’t over do it.
We won’t hold your prior occupation against you, hopefully you were able to retire so you have time to work on your 350. Did you get your reverser issue figured out?

Ha, ha. Maybe it is just punishing me for all those years with the other guys. Yep, the revereser is working fine, I found parts at the local wrecker and all went well. I am hoping that I had an injector leak down, I was working, stopped for a cold one and it would not start. Locked tight.
No noise at shut down, no water in oil. I pulled the hyd pump thinking it seized. I put a 36 in pipe wrench on front shaft and I can not budge it one way or the other.
So I want to pull the injectors in case one bleed down and a cylinder hydro locked. I saw this once before. Any way with out injectors may be I can spin it. I want to do that before I pull the engine.
As well I pulled started and put pry bar on flywheel without luck.
Some days are longer than others. This is tuff work for an old guy

I doubt that is it. No way for fuel to get from the tank through the pump and fill the cylinder up. I doubt it can happen regardless, but even less likely when the fuel tank is not above the injector level to start with.

Good point Lavoy, the tank is lower than the injector. Any ideas before I pull the engine? I wonder if the revereser packed up again, but if if it did the flex plate should allow you to rock it a bit back and forth??

No flex plate in a C model, it is a rubber torsional isolator, but should have a small amount of give.

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine
Then definitely not a C model. If it looks like a glorified clutch disc, it is a straight 350. If 5 big springs and a goofy plate deal with splines and a fiber backing, then it is a B model. Not a hard and fast rule, because who knows what people have changed over the years, but doubt someone bought an older flywheel and isolator and put it in a C model. Unless by C model you mean crawler?

Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine
Wasn't the rubber torsional isolator a 350D model thing and the 350C had a disc with about 5 big springs on it that like to fly off and lock up the engine?
Re: Injector removal 3 - 179 CID engine
350C got the rubber isolator at 706659, so that is kind of confusing. According to that, early 350C would have had the spring isolator.

It has the springs, I replaced them once. If the springs piled up would it not have made a noise?
As I said it was working fine, I shit it off and its is locked tighter than a drum
