1010C Info needed
Looked at a 1010C today with a hydraulic 6 way blade and gas engine. Runs good and looks like the head was replaced at some point. Will need a lot of small things and will probably have to tear into the left steering clutch. Serial tag is there and it is in the 49700 range but no reference of an A or I on the plate. Don't think it was an ag version as it had a reverser. Should there have been an A or I on the tag?
I also saw a handle down by the left front area of the engine. Does that turn off the hyd. pump? Tracks are so so and not sure if the adjusters work but I have been through worse with the older 2 cyls crawlers.
Opinions and answers welcome.

Re: 1010C Info needed
Hi,
I do not recall they used A and I on the serial number. Ag was painted green, Ind was painted yellow. A reverser could be found on either, so that doesn't supply a clue. The lever up front disconnects the hydraulic pump drive. Supposed to be to help cold weather starting but also comes in handy when changing the fan belt. If it still moves, that is.

Re: 1010C Info needed
Thanks gentlemen. Lavoy, are the track adjuster seals still available? How about the RH steering lever?
I wonder if I could make rubber tracks fit this one also?

Re: 1010C Info needed
Seals should be no problem.
Steering levers are a little hard, but I might have one, or know of someone that does.
Tracks would be tough. I know of tracks that can be made to fit 420/430, but 1010 might be too long.

Re: 1010C Info needed
So I bought the 1010 and should have it home in a week or so. Shoot me now I suppose. 6 way hydro blade will be nice to have but I have to rebush and re-pin the joystick handle as it is sloppy. I mean really sloppy. Got to get it charging also with new cables needed. A couple of broken bolts and some tune up love and hopefully it will do a few chores until winter. I will also start my quest for rubber tracks by doing the math like I did on my 420 and 430. Do any of you 1010 gas owners know of a source for the manifold to muffler pipe?

Re: 1010C Info needed
I purchased a 1010C a few months ago. Does anyone know where I can obtain a cylinder plate? Mine appears to be worn out. Thx
Re: 1010C Info needed
Deere only as far as new. I might have a set of oversize piston if the deck is good enough to bore.

Re: 1010C Info needed
Thanks Lavoy, for the reply. Do you think Deere still has them available? My mechanic seems to think they don't. He also believes that the cylinder walls are too worn to re-bore them and use oversized pistons. The tractor is, otherwise, in decent shape... just bent push rods, burnt valves, no compression.
Re: 1010C Info needed
They are normally available.
The pistons I think I have are .045, Deere only ever offered .020, so doubt it is worn that much.

Re: 1010C Info needed
OK everyone, I have a question. Bought the 1010 mentioned above and after looking and staring at the manifold I think it is not the right one. Is it possible that a 2010 Cyl head and manifold would fit the 1010 block? What about just a 2010 manifold on a 1010 head?
The cylinder head has definitely been changed as it is still cast colored paint as if it came from a machine shop.
The block is the correct cast # for a 1010C according to my parts book. I cant see any cast numbers on the head or manifold.
I did a complete tune up with all ignition parts, plugs, wires, rotor, condenser, points, cap, and it runs really nice. I have not even touched the carb yet but I plan to go through it, so any thoughts are appreciated.

On my 2010 diesel the part number for the intake is cast on top of it. There's 2 numbers and they are t17564t and t1119qt.
