Re: 350 B Track
My dad got so mad at the last set he took a thin cutting disk and cut into the outside of the bushing pad side. Parked it in a wet spot for a month rotating the tracks everyday with the bucket and backhoe stabilizers down. This finally broke them loose but are still a bit sticky. These were brand new sealed (not lubricated) rails that were on a Dozer cat we bought and had sat a long time. They will never get worn out on out yard cat so no issue with dirt getting in the bushings.
We have also built a pressure unit out of pipe with an end cap and a flange that just fits a 450 rail. We tried with oil at 1,000 psi for a month on a track chain and didn’t work. My dad wants to try antifreeze which we used from a local truck repair shop. I want to try water or an ATF/ Acetone mixture. We have many sets with frozen up links.
We also have a few sets soaking in the pond which we will pull out before it freezes , install and see if they break free.

Re: 350 B Track
Got it pressure washed and ran it for 20 minutes in water and only one broke loose so far. Got it soaking in water now and will work them a couple times a day and see what happens. Hope it works
Re: 350 B Track
How much do new chains normally cost.
Re: 350 B Track
JWB, I did try the ATF and acetone a few months back an that didn't work either. I juiced it up twice a day for a few days and it didn't help either.
Re: 350 B Track
Good ole weasel piss.
36 link chain ~$900-1,500 depending.
Best regards, Bruce

Re: 350 B Track
That price is per side not for a pair! I priced pads, chain, sprocket ring and nuts/bolts about a month ago and the cheapest I could find for a straight 350 was 1638.32 a side.

Re: 350 B Track
They would need to sit in water for a couple days minimum, week is probably better. If you can drive it around in the water, that is even better once they have loosened up.

Re: 350 B Track
I have it jacked up with a make shift pond built under it. I have part of them under water now and will let them soak all week then try it again to see what happens. Then I will soak the other ones the same and hope for the best. If this doesn't work then I guess I will see what it cost to have them punched out.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: 350 B Track
Buy a couple soaker hoses, lay the hose on top of the track, with a few sand bags laid on it to keep it in place. Turn on the water just so the the rail stays wet. Leave it alone for a week. Remove the hose and sand bags and exercise the the track. This worked on a friends 350 loader. It took three weeks to get the pins and bushings freed up. But it was not alot of work for him.
