I am doing the steering clutches on a 450(). I am going to use a slide hammer to pull out the Final Drive Bearing Shaft and the Steering Clutch Drive Shaft. Does anyone know what the tapped threads on the shaft ends are? I am guessing either 1/4in or 3/8in coarse. I hope they are the same for both shafts. I am going to fab a tool. I was going to make the tool before opening things up. Anyway if anyone can remember.

Re: Removing the Final Drive Bearing Shaft
Hey, I found crawler123's chronicle on replacing clutches on his 450. That stuff is gold. He mentioned on page 5 that they were 3/8x16 for the final drive bearing shaft. I suspect they are the same for both. If anyone knows different let me know.

I don't know for sure, but the info you found is pretty reliable.

On my 450B the final drive and steering clutch shafts were different. Had to use 7/16"-14 and 3/8"-16.

Re: Removing the Final Drive Bearing Shaft
I was afraid it would require two different sizes. I had better find some 7/16" before I start the job. Just in case. If you can remember, is the 7/16" for the Final Drive shaft or the Steering Drive Shaft? Question is what length of all thread do I need.
Thanks
