Sugaring

Post by hydrogeo » Mon Apr 09, 2018 9:25 am

I know it was a farm dozer for most of it's life, I wonder how many gallons of sap the old popper has pulled out of the woods over the years (I only do about 80 taps so probably 400 gals for me this year). Pulls the trailer way better than my Kubota in the snow and mud. Anybody else sugar?

Hi, yes , my family and I make Maple syrup...have nearly 1000 taps. tons of work, and a kind of strange obsession, but we love it.

Good morning bulldozer,

1000 taps, you do stay busy with those.

Consider adding a general location of where you are to your profile. It can help to know about where people are at times if they are looking for parts or help, you never know who might be close to where you are.

I'd love to but I don't think pine or fir trees make good syrup ☹️

Click the drop down arrow next to your name when you are logged in. Click on the user control panel. In the control panel screen select Profile. You should be able to add your location on that screen in the Location box.

oh yeah, we sell it. friends, family, people come around , ship it here and there , it moves quickly and then another season is apon us befor we know it. Kinda like when it gets dry enough for really good pond building and other bulldozing projects. then its over rains come things get wet again....im rambling on I know , but heck seasons come and go so quickly. we must enjoy them as well.
