3325 winch oil level and plug missing?

Post by slabguy » Thu Aug 22, 2019 4:00 pm

How do you know what the oil level should be in a 3325 winch and what type of oil goes in it? I have some manuals on the way but nothing currently.

See pictures. Is there supposed to be a plug in this hole? I assume so since it’s threaded but nothing is running out and there is some oil in the winch. https://imgur.com/a/qLvrFyX

There is a plug in that hole on my winch. It keeps water and crud out of the brake/clutch area and will serve as a drain (check for oil leak) for that compartment if needed.

While you wait for your manuals here is the page for checking the 3325 winch oil from my Operator's Manual. The manual does have some other oils that can be used in some cases but Hy-Gard is the first one listed.Image

Awesome thanks Jim. This thing quit working between yesterday and today. Maybe the owner filled it up with fluid before I got there and it’s leaked down low enough now to not work. Guess I need to find the leak sooner than later.
