Citiots strike again.

Post by townlineterry » Sun Oct 06, 2019 3:07 pm

I never cease to be amused at some of the things city people say and do when they come out to the country. The latest is a Pittsburgh lady on the local facebook page.
They recently bought a camp in the area. First it was gushing constantly about the all the beautiful deer in their yard which she was feeding. Then she started crying about the roadkills near their camp.
Next it was the beaver pond. "Something or somebody" destroyed the dam and HER BEAVERS had disappeared.
The latest crisis is a neighbor is going to log his property. What will the animals that live there do. She wants to know who to petition to stop the logging.
Toda.y was first day of archery season, can't wait to see the posts on that.

Had some move in up this way from NJ and MA for the beauty, quiet life, the farms, and low property taxes. Built their houses where they wanted on lots they bought, and posted, then built as they wanted. Once complete they started pushing the need for zoning and building codes, road side trash pick up, and the other "good things" they left behind. They won on some things, then wondered why taxes went up. They complained about the smell of the farms and the noise from orchards spraying at night. Come hunting season the hunters in that group were surprised that some of farmers told them to go hunt on their own land and stay off the farms. It seems that regularly some group somewhere in the state tries to get a bill in the state legislature about adding restrictions to control farmers harvesting timber on their farm, having to allow hiking, snowmobile, and ATV trails, free access to farm and forest land, etc. Kind of glad to see those types aren't all here, but hate to see them anywhere.

Gotta love that mentality. Move out to the country to get away from the city, then try to make it like where you came from.
