lubricating my undercarriage on my 40C

Post by Emzed » Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:45 pm

Just got the correct grease gun fitting to lube my undercarriage on my 40C. I have heard I need a special low pressure grease gun. Where do I get something like this? Also, what grease or wt oil to use? Thanks. Mz

Hi,

Lavoy has the low pressure guns. The JD Ag dealer has the Corn Head Grease you need to use. Buy many tubes as you likely will need to put a lot in.

Whoops! Never mind! OP has the earlier rollers! Read on:

How many rollers, three or more?

A 3-roller uses "heavy gun grease" in a standard grease gun. Fifteen pumps every ten hours by my book.

No need for low pressure gun on a 3 roller, but the guns I have are also high volume which works great for 3 rollers.
Get the stickiest heaviest grease you can find.

Thanks all.
Rollers greased except one with bad button head fitting. Ordering a new one and spares.
Where is the fitting for the front Idler wheel?

Should be a button-head fitting on the hub between the spokes. You may have to move the track several pads to see it.

Found them, as you noted they were out of sight due to how the idlers were rotated thanks!
