350 steering fiber disc.
350 steering fiber disc.
I have to remove the snap ring on the inner hub to get all the disc and plates on the hub. Has any one had this problem? I'm repairing a 1965 JD 350.

One fiber goes behind the snap ring. the books don't necessarily mention this.

Thanks. The old ones have metal with fiber on both sides. They have an oily sheen on them but measure almost new. Could the throw out bearing have caused it? The final drive seal showed no leaks.

No, oil is an oil leak, find it and fix it or you are wasting your time. Only sources are pinion shaft seal, or carrier seal.

I replaced the final drive seals. I will check the others you mentioned.

Is there an easy way to get the spring lock clips off the pressure pate adjusting bolts? It also looks like I will not have enough adjustment to set it with the gage.

Stick a screwdriver through the clip, break it off, throw it away.
