350 year French built

Post by EdPower » Sun Oct 04, 2020 2:51 pm

Hello I have a 350 built in Saran France .
The badge on machine shows .....E7350 0004686D or could be 000468CD . Does any know what year this machine is ?
What does the E7 mean before the 350 ?
thanks

Good afternoon Ed.

You should post things related to 350s on the Late Models Board, as your previous posts are. A moderator will likely move this post over there.

In North America the E7350 prefix is for the loader serial number only. Here is what the parts book says about the number you posted. "*NOTE: SERIAL NUMBER PLATES ON JD350 CRAWLER LOADERS BEAR THE NUMBER 7350 AS A BASIC PREFIX PORTION OF THE SERIAL NUMBER. THIS IS NOT A MACHINE MODEL NUMBER AND SHOULD NOT BE USED TO IDENTIFY THE LOADER."

On a North American 350 the serial number tag you need for the crawler Identification and to establish the year, would be on the front of the panel below the seat, about behind your right calf if you were setting in the seat. All the 350s (and 350Bs up to serial number 142199) were in that location. 350Bs serial number 142200 and after had the tag on the front panel of the battery box. Those would be the first places to look, however the European machine tags may be in a different location. And I don't know if anyone here has a list of the European serial numbers as they relate to build years. If you find a tag, post the information someone may have an answer for you.
Best regards,
Jim

For the record, what is your general location? You might add your location to your profile.

From where sspony found the tag on his Saran built 450, it could be somewhere totally different than where the North American ones were located. If you had the right Saran manual for it the manual might tell a location. You can try looking for numbers in the location on the transmission case CatD8RII gave in this discussion. Maybe yours will have something there, maybe not.

Is there a JD dealer near you that you could ask where the tag is on a Saran 350?
