400G crawler top rollers
400G crawler top rollers
I am having trouble finding top (carrier) rollers for my 1992 400G. Apparently they don't make them any more. Has anyone else dealt with this problem or ideas how to fix it?
Re: 400G crawler top rollers
Where are you checking? The 350D and 355D used that same carrier roll (AT132705 for the roller shell with bushings), doesn't seem that would be unavailable at all suppliers. There was a post by Kaiverol a couple weeks ago about replacing one (different part number) on his 350B, yours is newer so I believe they are available. Send Lavoy an email or call him, he may have them, or be able to have them drop shipped to you.

I struck out, all my references show a different idler for the 400G, and no availability for some reason.

Re: 400G crawler top rollers
That seems strange, but nothing is truly surprising around parts these days. The online parts books show the same (upper) carrier roll shell and bushings for the 350D and 400G. Some of the other sub components that go with the shell and support to make up a complete assembly are different. The JD construction equipment dealer I use shows it is available to order, but order and receive are two different things, not always related I've found.
The front idlers show differences and substitutions, but on line it looks like the 350D and 400G idlers end up the same, after subs, and they are sold complete with brackets, not just the shells.
Hopefully one of the guys who have had more to do with the 400G and 350Ds will have some answers to help.

Not sure why they are showing up as not available. They are the same carrier as the 350 D. They use a different bracket that is more like the 450E. But the roller and shaft are the same.

I should qualify that, 350 D upper idlers are not available either from my supplier.

Wow... I wonder what is up with that? The last two I bought was last summer from my local Deere dealer. They were aftermarket rollers and the parts guy didn't say anything about any issue coming up with them or any undercarriage for that matter. I will ask him this week and see what he knows. I wonder if this is a Pandemic related issue since a lot of the aftermarket undercarriage comes from Italy and Korea?

These folks are pretty good, I've used them for undercarriage before. Maybe give them a call and they can help?

Re: 400G crawler top rollers
I bought my roller through the local dealer, who ordered aftermarket which matches up exactly to what is on traxnteeths site. What is interesting is that they show two rollers for the 350B. The one I got is AT18931, but the AT167258 also is listed for a 350B and the 400G. That had me confused, because I can’t match that part number back to a 350B.
In any case, this site should have the right carrier roller as already suggested.
