New oil pump doesn't fit
Lavoy sold me a new oil pump for my 450C, and it fits perfectly, EXCEPT it points the output pipe in the wrong direction. Lavoy says that the part number is right, and I'm sure it is, but something is off.
The output pipe is steel tube with a 90 degree bend. The long end jams into the oil pump end cap, with an oring in a groove inside the cap to seal it. The short end jams vertically into a hole on the other side of the block, with no oring to seal it. On the original pump, the hole on the pump end cap was horizontal and the tube fit into both holes. On this new pump, the end cap hole points the tube down at about 20 degrees below horizontal and the short leg is pointed in the wrong direction, doesn't even reach the hole in the block.
So, has anybody run into this before? Any ideas for buying or building a new output tube, or for a different part number for the oil pump, or anything?

Re: New oil pump doesn't fit
I have not personally ran into this problem. But I have heard that the “new” pumps don’t work with the old tube. I have heard that a new pipe/pipes are needed.

Do we have a part number for a new tube? Is it the same part number but a new shape? If it's as simple as buying a new tube, that's an easy solution!

Re: New oil pump doesn't fit
I was finally able to get the Deere parts catalog to load for me, and it's Oil Tube, part 16, PN R113752, crosses to PN A-R113752.
https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sid ... pgId/18723
Putting the number here so I can find it later when the site won't load during the day.
Still not sure whether there is a new shape to match the new pump, the drawing is crude but looks like mine.

I think your next step is to order the new pipe with the sub’d number.

Yes, I sent Lavoy a message, asked him if he could get his hands on one to see if it has different bends.
Re: New oil pump doesn't fit
I have a new one on order. No pic of the part in my breakdown, so not sure if it is different, but we'll see. Should be to me tomorrow, but I quit guessing on shipping about a year ago.

You should have it shortly if you don't already.

It showed up today, and it did the job. That extra bend in it does the trick.
What do I owe you for the new pipe?

Re: New oil pump doesn't fit
So the new pipe does fit, but it's sloppy loose in the block, same as the old one was. There is no provision in the block for an oring, so I guess it's supposed to be that way? Does anybody know for sure whether this oil pump output tube is supposed to be a loose fit, or what to do if it's not supposed to be?
