I just picked up a late 60's (I think) 350 dozer and am in the process of getting it going. I found that one of (possibly more) the bottom rollers is completely loose as if the bearings in it disappeared. Is it possible to rebuild these rollers or am I stuck paying $400+ for a new roller?
I'm located in Cullman, Alabama

Yes, they can be rebuilt if they aren't shelled out completely. Which is usually the case. If the ones you have are that loose then I would bet they are all toast. Check with Lavoy, the owner of this site. He may be able to help you out since he sells parts for these older machines.
The up side to buying new rollers is they are just about bullet proof. They are sealed and run in oil so you don't have to grease them. Unfortunately the undercarriage and tracks are about 80 percent of a crawlers overall maintenance cost.

You will find you will be way past the cost of a new roller to rebuild yours. Either the seals are obsolete and not avaialble, or $375/each, plus the shaft and bushings.
$400 is pretty high, I can sell them for less than that.

Thanks Lavoy, could you get me a price on one? I have a suspicion we'll need more than one but I won't know till this weekend.

Old thread, but anyone got pics of what the rollers, pins and bushings look like? Someone welded around where the pin is on the side. One of the welds broke and the roller flops around. I'm thinking maybe I can get the roller machined for new bearings. But then I tend to be optimistic
