Non running JD straight 350
Non running JD straight 350
Watt would be rough fair price for non-runner average condition. Assuming all the normal stuff needs to be done clutches brakes in frame rebuild seat cosmetic stuff. seem to be all there except for engine side panels. Has 3-point hitch with brush hog. Under carriage looks to be at least 50 /percent. My thoughts are 2500-3500
Re: Non running JD straight 350
Well my thoughts are start at scrap iron price and go from there. You're looking at a pig in a poke. It may be a good pig or it may be a bad one. You don't know what you may run into so go in cheap and stay cheap. I've seen running machines bring 2500 to 3000 and they weren't anything to brag about. Pay really close attention to the undercarriage. That alone is several thousand dollars.

To add to what LeonardL said about undercarriage. Looks don't mean a lot in setting wear percentage. An undercarriage can look good and actually be over 100% worn out when measured. JMHO

Also...non-running....engine blown..worn out?...large lawn ornament
Re: Non running JD straight 350
Right. realistically watt could a restored back to decent shape be sold for. Is 15 k anywhere close? or am i dreaming? May sound silly but I'm kind of liking spending free time working on these machines. I have one up north that's just about there and had no intention of selling that one. But if i brought another one back to life i would most likely do just that. Any thoughts? Please be gentil .
Re: Non running JD straight 350
I doubt seriously that you would get that much out of a straight 350. I guess you can price one that high and then see what happens. You can always come down in price. That being said I have only ever seen 350C's and D's bring over 12K. And those machines were in like new condition or at least 80 to 90 percent.
The problem is you pay the same for parts on an older 350 as you will with the later models. So you end up with a lot invested and you still have an older machine. I may be wrong but I think 10 to 12K would be a little more realistic for a Straight 350 in restored condition. But then I haven't been keeping up with the latest sales either.
