450c Losing Prime
450c Losing Prime
I just put in a new injection pump in my 450c. I got it primed and it started right up. My problem is that it keeps losing the prime. It seems to be somewhere between the transfer pump and the injection pump because if I loosen the input line on the injection pump it'll prime. I don't see any leaks though.
Re: 450c Losing Prime
Welcome to the Boards.
The injection pump and filters are on the pressure side of the transfer pump. If air is getting pulled into the system I would be looking between the tank and transfer pump. Watch your engine oil level, the transfer pump may be getting weak and they can put fuel into the engine oil when they fail.
Just a bit of housekeeping. Your future posts about your 450C should be on the Late Models Board. This Board is for the models built before the 350s and 450s. A Moderator may move this post over to that board.
