John deere 350b only cuts one way
John deere 350b only cuts one way
I can pull the left cutting lever and the right side will not push it around or if you push heavy the right side doesn't track

Re: John deere 350b only cuts one way

Pulling a lever disengages the steering clutch and applies the brake, the opposite side should continue to drive, to turn the crawler in the direction of the pulled lever.
You pulled the left lever, it stopped driving. The right was supposed to keep turning to "push" the crawler to the left. You also said, " if you push heavy the right side doesn't track". From your description it does not matter that "The right side just got a complete rebuild", something was not done correctly, is way out of adjustment, or has failed on the right side.
Did you do the rebuild of the right side? What was done and what was replaced? Do you have the Service Manual and Operator's Manual for your machine?

Yes I done it myself have all service manuals I replaces all clutches bearings pressure plate
Re: John deere 350b only cuts one way
What was the reason that you overhauled the right steering clutch?
Did you use the JD7 gauge to set the pressure plate fingers when you assembled it? As dtoots1 mentioned, try a complete step by step adjustment of the steering clutch and brake. Rule adjustment error or slippage out before tearing it down.
This is a dry steering clutch 350B, correct?
Any oil or water in that steering compartment?

Re: John deere 350b only cuts one way
Did you check the condition of the splines in the hub the ring gear rides on and on the shafts, out and through, the final drive?
Does it have power assist steering and is all in related linkages moving properly?
How many steel discs and how many friction discs did you install?

Re: John deere 350b only cuts one way
If you have free travel of the throwout bearing (from ALL fingers) and it still slips you have no option other than tearing it down. If so and assembly is good then suspect the pressure plate springs first.

No I got them from reliable aftermarket parts
Re: John deere 350b only cuts one way
Same difference, 90% of the clutch parts on ebay are them. I would say junk pressure plate all things being equal. I know their pressure plates, thrown a couple new ones in the scrap dumpster.
