Hi,

Looks like a modern Struck mini-dozer painted up to look like a Deere. Not that that makes it any less cool, though!

I've been thinking about taking an old original Struck (aka the world's most useless dozer) I have kicking around and merging it with an old Deere 110 lawn tractor to make a tracked ATV to buzz about the woods with.

It's one of those cases where I have two 'assembled piles of parts' that I really have no use for - so why bother fixing them? - while also thinking about a 'winter project' that won't matter much how long it takes to complete while not taking up the entire shop......

I tell you what, if that thing was any neater it would have to have a slot in the dash to put the quarters in. Guess what my first purchase is when I win the lottery!?!?!?!?!?

I have seen a similar wheel tractor model (in The Big Book Of John Deere Tractors), made by JD but sold in Spain as a vineyard model. JD partnered with Goldoni. In the link below, there is a wheel tractor with the same fold down style ROPS.

Okay, now I really have to have one, did you see the 3PT capacity? Power about the same as a 440, weight about the same as a 420, and a Detroit diesel to boot.

Oooh. Now I want one, too. Didn't want one when I thought it was a Struck, but this is a more serious machine. Wonder what they cost? Also wonder if there's a 6-way PAT blade option. I didn't see any blade or loader options on the website, though.....

So, at least one outfit makes this thing into a bulldozer.

I don't read well in any language other than English, and that site's English section is 'under construction' (using a dozer, no doubt), but fortuntely, I do read technical drawings regardless of the language.

Looks like it'd make for a decent setup. Now, how to get one??

Hi,

Well, popped thru the JD websites for several EU countries, and I only see the wheel tractors listed, and then only for Spain. I don't see the crawler version anywhere. I wonder which country the crawler is sold in and what the model number might be.

I wonder, too, where Lavoy was when he saw the one he originally posted the pic of. Is that the Deere version (can't see a model number in the pic) or one repainted, I wonder?

Although, if I were to get one from the US distributor, it'd not take long to make the thing green with some JD labels on it.

I wish to heck that Deere would come out with a new 420-sized crawler. One of these would do if it had a PAT blade on it. I'd be right at the local dealer signing up with JD Credit to get one - even though I've done enough business with them this year getting that 328 baler and 5103 tractor!!

i am not sure but, i have heard that the vineyards and the orchards in the southwest US are still useing alot of oliver cletracts and of course deeres like we have. you would think that they would want to update, so there would be a nitch market for a 420 size crawler in the US.
it would be nice to see one up close or pics of it to see how the track frame and drive housings are constructed
